Well, six months in to Gianna's life I'm finally starting this blog for her! Really, better late than never! I'm going to start with just throwing out a bunch of random things about Gianna that I feel she'd want to know about herself...
Gianna is officially a sitter! She's been working on sitting up now for about 3 weeks - it only took her about a week and a half before she could do it without anyone helping her at all!
I feel mostly confident leaving her sitting some place and walking away for a second. She is getting really good at bending over to pick things up that are sitting on the floor around her and examining them. She studies everything very intently. Especially faces. If she sees a new face she gets very serious about learning who this new person is and memorizing their face!
She had a visit from her Grammy this past week and took to her like she's seen her every day of her life (thank you Skype!). Grammy and Gianna did a lot of giggling together and had loads of fun! We went to the conservatory together and Grammy taught Gianna all about the different trees and plants and flowers that were there.
Gianna now knows her jumperoo makes music (jumping in the jumperoo is one of Gianna's favorite things to do) and she's completely fascinated by it. The music comes on when she jumps and every time she'll stop and stare at the speaker to figure out exactly how she made it start playing. She loves the red tomato and turning the pages on the book. She also loves to eat the bathtub letters while she's jumping (specifically X, H, and K).
Gianna puts everything in her mouth. Everything. Mommy's hair (gross), daddy's fingers, tags on anything that has a tag on it, daddy's clothes, mommy's clothes, her own clothes, paper, the feet of the duck that hangs from her car seat, blankets, but her FAVORITE thing to put in her mouth.... her fingers (sometimes her whole fist!).
So sweet, I love it! Even though I'm not far I enjoyed catching up on what Gianna is doing :)-Debbie K.
