Man, it's been a really hot week this week! We've been spending a lot of time trying to find ways to beat the heat and still burn energy! We've been going to malls, frozen yogurt bars with friends, and having frequent play dates in pools to stay cool! It's been a lot of fun :)
This week Gianna started ending almost every sentence/word she says with "uh-huh" as if trying to convince me that I should go along with what she was saying. I guess I must say it often myself... she is super cute when she says it. We have also had a strange week where she has been very clingy to me. I actually feel bad for Chris because she just wants mommy... all. the. time. I love it, and I hate it at the same time. I cherish the time she WANTS to be with me, but it can also be so hard when I have a second child to take care of. She has been choosing to want me to hold her while I'm feeding Jeremiah which is just impossible. It makes me sad to see her sad/upset when I tell her I can't hold her. Discipline has been tough this week too (and this after a day where she got a special giant chocolate chip cookie as a reward for having a fantastic day obeying mommy...).
We have a volunteer fire department a few blocks away from us and we can hear the sirens go off a few times a day. Whenever they go off Gianna and I have a conversation that goes something like this: "Help!" "That's right Gianna, someone needs help." "Pray!" "Great idea! Let's pray for whoever needs help" and then we say a prayer for the people needing help and those responding. It's beautiful. I love it. :)
Jeremiah has been so happy and giggly! He really loves it when I sing to him. If he's crying in the car or upset about something at home and I sing to him he always calms down. He is always attentive at the library when we go to song and story time when the man is playing his guitar and singing. He smiles when we play music through the house and loves to watch Gianna dance around the living room (which she does on a daily basis).
I think I might have mentioned this last time, but he really loves when I read him this book by Max Lucado. I love the book - it's beautifully written and it recites a hopeful message to my kids about how much God loves them, and how much I love them! He started eating pears this week! He's doing great with it - he loves to eat them and gets really excited when he sees his spoon! He's becoming more coordinated with grabbing things and putting them in his mouth. He practices with his pacifier all the time... he'll take it out and turn it all around and inspect it then put it back in, and he often puts it back in the right way! I'm still waiting for him to roll over and sit up, but that's just around the corner :) We have his 6 month appointment next week, I can't wait to see his stats! He'll soon be moving up to 12 month size clothes.... my big, healthy, baby boy :)
